Plumb Bob is Plumb Gone

"I smell a rat," said Detective Chase McCain Wednesday morning as he investigated the disappearance of Plumb Bob Hardware on Original Avenue. "Just last week Bob was grilling hot dogs on the sidewalk, showing visitors this season's new lawnmowers, and talking of his long term goals in MoreCityBricks. And now he's gone without a trace."

A crowd gathered at the scene, marveling at the empty lot and wondering about their friend and neighbor.

"Bob is the heart of this community," said Betty Cooker of Take the Cake Bakery. "He and I have been neighbors as long as I can remember. It's just not like him to up and disappear like this."

With residents in turmoil and their hardware needs going unmet for the foreseeable future, Mayor Builder tried to keep things positive. "I'm sure wherever Bob has gone, he and his hardware store are bringing joy and superior service to the community."

There has been no official word on the whereabouts of Bob and his store, but rumors are circulating about a new hardware store drawing a lot of attention in Pennsylvania.
