Natural History Museum Opens
After much speculation and a fair amount of controversy, the MoreCityBricks Natural History Museum has opened for business.
The
building features a two-story atrium topped with an impressive skylight
running almost the full width of the building. Sitting beneath the
skylight is Rex, the tyrannosaurus that was unearthed a while back at a
construction site on Original Avenue.
Patrons young and old are in for a treat as the Museum features something for everyone.
"The
Dinosaur Dig is a big hit," proclaimed one dad. "Where else can you set
your kids loose and let them dig up dinosaur bones?"
The
gift shop has been hopping with activity since the doors opened, with
visitors and supporters snapping up their own T-Rex building kits, hats,
mugs and everything under the sun.
"We're
overwhelmed with the turnout," said Kate Curry, the museum curator. "The
Raptor Cafe always has a line. The Discovery Lab has a steady stream of
visitors. And, of course, the atrium is always buzzing with people and
camera flashes as everyone gets up close and personal with Rex!"
The museum is open seven days a week. Please call ahead to be sure you can get a ticket for your desired date.
